Frequently Asked Questions
The best choice depends on your surface, job size, and how often you stripe. For bigger or more frequent jobs, a higher-performance airless machine like the 4400 Airless Striping Machine would be a strong fit, while the 4250 Airless Striping Machine is a good mid-range option for general pavement and parking lot striping.
Yes, certain pavement striping machines can also be used on concrete floors. Always choose a machine and paint designed for the surface you plan to stripe.
Common striping surfaces include pavement, concrete, parking lots, warehouses, and other prepared commercial or industrial areas. The surface should be clean and suitable for the material you plan to use.
Yes. Newstripe’s 4250, 4400, and 4600 SP Airless Stripers are all designed for pavement and parking lot work, and they can also be used on concrete surfaces. The 4250 is a lightweight, economical choice for pavement, parking lots, and warehouse floors; the 4400 is a stronger contractor-grade option for frequent use; and the 4600 SP is a self-propelled model that’s well suited for larger jobs and more demanding striping work.
Temporary markings are meant to be removed or changed later, while permanent markings are designed to stay in place longer and handle regular traffic or wear. The right choice depends on how long you need the line to last.
Newstripe airless stripers commonly produce clean, crisp lines in the 2-inch to 6-inch range.
- In general, properly applied striping on the right surface is designed to hold up well under normal use.
- Low-traffic areas: touch up about every 12–24 months.
- Moderate-traffic areas: touch up about every 6–12 months.
- Heavy-traffic or industrial areas: touch up about every 3–6 months, or sooner if visibility fades.
For many pavement and floor striping jobs, water-based paint is the most common choice because it is easy to use, dries quickly, and is simpler to clean up, while solvent-based paint can be a good option when you need faster drying in cooler conditions; Newstripe’s 4250 Airless Striping Machine can spray both water-based and oil/solvent-based paints.
Basic maintenance usually includes cleaning the machine after use, clearing the spray tip or pump as needed, and checking parts before the next job. Regular cleaning helps the machine perform consistently.
Make sure the surface is clean, dry, and ready for marking, and always follow the equipment safety instructions before operating. Newstripe emphasizes pressure release, eye protection, ventilation, and proper trigger-lock use on airless machines.
